Motion to approve minutes made by Doug Lohmeier; seconded by Gus Janszen. Motion passed.

New Business: none

Old Business:
·       Tri-Health Report
It was nice to see the newspaper article concerning the Biggest Loser Challenge.
The program has people working out regularly.
·       Skatepark Update
Still waiting for quote from David Williams, Inc.; however, researching it on the web, parks range anywhere from $3,000 (portable wood equipment) to $250,000 (small concrete skatepark). 10,000 sq. feet is the acceptable minimum area.
A few years ago, David went to a seminar in Miami Township. They used lumber and screws to construct their skatepark with lumber costs of $14,000. In Miami Township, 70-80% of the users were non-residents. According to this seminar, there has never been a successful lawsuit relating to a skatepark. The “biggest” problems are language, and litter.
Once we have a, location, potential users, costs, etc., we can figure out the priority of the skatepark in relation to the Five Year Master Plan.
·       Gym Schedules
Four times in the last couple of weeks, the gym has been rented by a Select or AAU team when one of our Recreation teams has had a practice scheduled. We need to look at not renting out the gyms and limiting the “open” gym times to residents only.

Director’s Report:
·       Policy Sub-committee and Fees Sub-committee members should review their schedules, and contact David with three or so possible meeting dates and times.
·       Council Finance Committee meets next Tuesday, April 4th, 7:00 pm, in Council Chambers.
·       David is investigating cost and software that will allow members to use the bar code on their Recreation Center ID cards to access the fitness center and other amenities in the center.
·       Gorman Farm is working on their trails project. The Mayor and some members of Council have said they do not want us pursue grants for the trail project; but rather use in house personnel and funds. The Mayor and some members of Council are concerned about the parameters that come with using grant money. Commission members working on the Recreation trail project would still like to seek grant money for non-farm related trails and investigate what type of burden(s) these restrictions would have on the village.

Phi Lambda Pi Report:
·       Two service projects were completed last month -
Members volunteered at RecFest for Kids and at the Daddy Daughter Dance.
·       The 2nd Annual Texas Hold ‘em Poker Tournament was held with 28 people attending. A Phi member won the event.
·       Awards Night is this Saturday evening, with the Overnight party following.

Open Discussion:
·       The trail entrance/exit off Kingsport Drive to the Gorman Heritage Farm is critical in bringing residents to and through the farm. Hopefully, in turn, this will bring new memberships to the Farm.
·       Can we look at state grants for non-farm area trails?
·       The Adult Services program allows resident members to invite four guests to become members. Can Crew 57 also adopt this policy, or add a non-resident fee and sign up date for events?

Motion to adjourn made at 8:46am by Michelle Gottschlich; seconded by Gus Janszen. Motion passed.
